Davis Dyslexia Correction® Facilitator
My original introduction to the Davis method of Dyslexia Correction was through a friend, who discovered it on her journey to help her youngest son with learning difficulties that the school system was unable to deal with.
I became intrigued with the dramatic effect the program had on her son and subsequently read the 'Gift of Dyslexia'. I found this enlightening, particularly in relation to my son, who was experiencing learning difficulties that appeared to be leading to emotional upsets at school.
Following this, I had the privilege of hearing Ron speak, and I really began to understand the positive way in which his methods approached dyslexia. This attitude was seemingly so different to the mainstream but so simple and logical and I had already seen the proof. On further examination, I realized that, integrity, non-judgment and self responsibility are some of the principals that sit at the base of the Davis method of correction. I embrace these traits and understand the power in an individual owning the learning and the growth that develops.
I began my working career as a registered nurse, and then traveled, working on yachts, before meeting my husband and settling in Sydney where we raised our two sons. I began my own design and manufacturing business when the children were young and sold it after 7 years. I had become so inspired I wanted to join the ranks of Davis Facilitators, making a difference to those and their families with learning difficulties. This was a positive career shift for me.
Having worked as a Facilitator in Sydney, our family has now moved to Vancouver where I am facilitating positive changes with those of all ages and walks of life. I anticipate many rewarding hours working with the fascinating adults and children who have the 'gift' of dyslexia.
